what no mother wants......

So, with Mother's Day just around the corner, I was thinking of all the possible gifts that may appear on sunday morning as eager children and clueless husbands present the queens of their household with the annual thanks you/we love you gifts!  Some of them are sweet, sentimental, thoughtful, extravagant and some, well some are less than appropriate and yet, we are expected to smile and not only appear grateful, but excited about this gift!

no vacuum cleaners - we don't need to be reminded of our daily duties!

no salad shooters - seriously!  Even if they do work as advertised, really?

no tool sets - save that for Dad on Father's Day - he has a "honey-do list" to get to doesn't he?

no cookbooks - unless YOU are planning on using them instead of her!!

no washing machines unless they sort, wash, dry, fold and put away!!

no iron unless it it works like the washing machine I mentioned above!

Now, use your creative little brain and come up with something personal, thoughtful, that she would want but wouldn't get herself, not something she needs!  Flowers die awfully quickly, so unless you are 150% certain that she loves getting flowers!   Think people!  Mother's day only comes once a year - make it special!!
